Irish Home Stay Programme ...
This programme has been organised for the past 33 years by secondary school teachers based in Ireland and Brittany. This year the organisation celebrates its 34th birthday.

The home stay programme differs from the exchange in that the students who participate do not bring back a French student (partner). Students taking part in this programme will travel with the exchange students in 2 groups with two Irish teachers leading each group.

The dates of departure and return are:

   Group 1: April 10th - May 1st
Or April 23rd - May 15th   (Transition years only)

   Group 2: June 10th - July 1th

These are three week stays. While in France, the Irish students will be under the personal supervision of the French organisers and experienced leaders who accompany them from Ireland.

We can accommodate students wishing to go on longer individual stays. Transition Year Students: Please ask for special infomration sheet or click on the orange link to view further information relating to this.

Each host family is carefully selected and will have children of approximately the same age as the Irish students. While in France the Irish syudent will be very much at home and will be encouraged to join in all family activities. The Irish student will attend school with the child of the host family.

Early bookings is essential as the number of places in this particular programme is very limited. The Application Forms should be completed as soon as possible and sent with 2 recent size passport photographs to the address given in the page Contact Details.

Forms should be filled in by parents, in black biro. Forms not accompanied by photos and deposit will not be accepted. Students who are free to go in any of the two groups are encouraged to say so.

The cost is €1735 and it covers organisation, return journey to France, remuneration for the host family, transport cost in France, leaders accommodation and expenses. A booking deposit of €350 is to accompany your application form. Cheques can also be made payable to Mr Joseph O'Neill.

We have recently obtained a very comprehensive insurance cover which covers all emergency situations. Full details of the policy will be sent to every successful applicant.

For further details regarding the organising etc...please refer to the webpage entitled "Franco-Irish Student Exchange 2012". If any parent or student would like further information we would be delighted to oblige.
